Culture

Qingdao, the cosmopolitan coastal city in Shandong Province, has a rich culture and history. The city was occupied by Germany in the late 19th century and later by Japan during World War II. These occupations have left their mark on the city's architecture, particularly in the Badaguan district, where historic colonial-style buildings remain. The city is also known for its brewing tradition, which was introduced by the Germans.

Qingdao has also played a significant role in China's naval history and is therefore now home to the National Marine Museum.

Today, Qingdao is an important economic center and a popular tourist destination with many attractions including beaches, historic buildings and museums that reflect the city's rich culture and history.
